The S2S4E project was represented at the annual E-world Energy & Water trade fair.
On the 11-13 February 2020, representatives of the S2S4E project participated at E-world Energy & Water, one of the largest annual trade fairs that brings together the European energy industry and takes place in Essen, Germany. This year, the trade fair attracted more than 25,000 visitors, and numerous innovations for fossil-free energy supply were presented.
The S2S4E stand at this year’s E-world was part of the Montel stand and was run by Iselin Rønningsbakk (CICERO), Llorenç Lledó (Barcelona Supercomputing Center), Karla Hernández and Joan Miquel Anglès (Nnergix Energy Management). During the three days of E-world, European and international decision-makers and professionals had the opportunity to engage with our representatives and discover more about our long-term forecasting tool specifically developed for the energy industry.
Llorenç Lledó, a researcher from the Barcelona Supercomputing Center and part of the S2S4E team, was a speaker at the E-world Finance & Trade Forum on the opening day of the fair. His presentation on “Energy forecasts that take climate variability into account” gave an overview of how the Decision Support Tool (DST; www.s2s4e.eu/dst), developed through the S2S4E project, can help renewable energy operators and providers plan their operations according to climate variations, addressing the climate-dependency of renewables.
During the fair, three press releases about the project were published and the S2S4E fact sheets were available to the E-world attendees. The photo gallery of our participation in E-world 2020 can be found on the S2S4E website, and the S2S4E presentation is shown below.
