Most of Europe is likely to see unseasonably mild weather in December, and in Northern Europe, temperatures set to be above normal at least until the end of January, S2S4E Decision Support Tool forecasts show.
According to the latest S2S4E forecast outlook available here, many places in western and central Europe will also see abnormally high temperatures in November. Above normal temperatures are predicted to continue in December in these areas. In January, however, above normal temperatures are only expected to remain in Finland, parts of Sweden and the Mediterranean area.
Rainy December
Southern Norway and the British Isles, particularly Ireland, will probably see wetter than normal weather in December, and conditions here are likely to remain wet also in January, the outlook shows.
In southern parts of Finland and areas in the Mediterranean region, however, there is high probability of below normal precipitation levels in December.
Sunny and little wind in November
Abnormally high solar radiation is expected for parts of Germany and the Netherlands in November.
Meanwhile, wind speed is forecasted to be below normal in most of Europe in November, particularly in Germany and the UK. In the same month in central Mediterranean, however, there is high probability to have above normal winds.
Wind speeds are predicted to be higher than normal over the British Isles in December, and are also expected to remain high in January.
