At the S2S4E Winter Outlook webinar, Andrea Manrique and Llorenç Lledó from the Barcelona Supercomputing Center will present the latest sub-seasonal and seasonal forecasts available in the S2S4E Decision Support Tool (DST), a forecasting tool aimed at the energy sector. The outlook will include forecasts on temperature, wind, precipitation and solar radiation expected for the winter season. In addition, Llorenç Lledó will also present the forecasts of the Euro-Atlantic teleconnections, while Andrea will discuss the Summer Extremes service provided during summer 2020.

At this webinar, part of the S2S4E project webinar series, Irene Cionni provides the autumn outlook with seasonal predictions covering the months of November 2020, December 2020 and January 2021, and discusses the use of subseasonal predictions to anticipate the Medicane (a Mediterranean cyclone) taking place in September 2020. In addition, Llorenc Lledo discusses the multi-model predictions and wind capacity factor available in the S2S4E forecasting tool, the Decision Support Tool (DST; https://s2s4e-dst.bsc.es). The solar capacity factor is also explained.

In this webinar, researchers from CICERO present the summer outlook for Northern Europe, and discuss how energy market participants can benefit from using seasonal forecasts. An update is also provided on recent developments in the Nordic power market from energy news service Montel, while energy analysis firm Refinitiv presents their views on current market prices. The webinar is moderated by Richard Sverrisson, Editor in Chief Europe at Montel. This webinar is part of the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) Energy Day organised by S2S4E.

At this webinar, Isadora Jimenez (BSC) discusses the challenges of visualising climate information and uncertainty, and how they were addressed in the development of the S2S4E Decision Support Tool. During a hands-on session of the DST, participants can find out more about how climate forecasts are displayed and how climate information is visualised in the tool, which was designed considering the user needs. This webinar is part of the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) Energy Day organised by S2S4E.

The webinar, presented by Ilia Pechlivanidis from the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute, focuses on the subseasonal-to-seasonal meteorological and hydrological forecast indicators that are relevant to the hydropower sector. The time horizon of interest would be from a couple of weeks ahead to the end of July, and cover the period that spring flood is occurring in northern Europe.
